Do You Like My Grill?

I had so much fun at the dentist! In California, many very famous singers wear grills on their teeth. It is like jewelry for the mouth. The dentist made me a set but Mrs. Juli doesn't like it much. She says Mr. Michael will not like it at all and that mommy is probably going to throw my grill away when I get back to South Carolina. I will only wear my grill on special occasions.

Mrs. Juli also let the dentist temporarily cement one gold/platinum tooth. Mommy can take it off when I get back to South Carolina if she doesn't like it. I really like the way it shines in the light!
To completely fit in here, I need to get some really baggy pants and a huge jersey and a lopsided baseball cap but Mrs. Juli put her foot down after the grill. She said that is enough. I'm still hoping to convince her otherwise!

Love,

Flat Stanley

Flat Stanley - I have to say I really do not like your grill - the one platinum tooth is a bit much also. I cannot wait to see what Hannah, Garrett, Zak, and your Mommy say...that should be real funny. I cannot wait to see what is on the agenda for tomorrow and the weekend.
Have fun.

Hi Mother, this is Juli.

I am struggling with Flat Stanley's grill and platinum tooth as well. At least the grill is like jewelry and removable and I let him know that it is not appropriate in social circumstances. Especially at the golf course!

Stanley is so good and he doesn't ask for much so I thought that I could deal with his platinum tooth and let his mother remove it when he gets back to South Carolina. As long as the temporary cement holds up, you'll be able to see his shiny tooth in person. He is so excited about meeting you in a couple of weeks.

I wonder what Flat Stanley's family will think of his new look as well!

Much love,

Juli

Hey Mrs. Jane and Mrs. Juli!

I love my new look! Mrs. Juli, I promise that I won't put my grill on very much, thank you for letting me get the platinum tooth and I really hope that mommy lets me keep it when I get back to South Carolina.

I can't wait to see what Hannah and Zac and Garrett think. I hope Mommy and Daddy aren't upset with me and they let me keep my grill.

Love,

Flat Stanley

Flat Stanley-I do not like your grill either. I do not think I can live with the platinum tooth either. Maybe it will grow on me!! But I would advise you not to come home with baggy pants and a double size jersey.

I really like Sophie's new cut. She is sooo cute. I am glad you are enjoying boiled peanuts. I love them--especially when we are at the lake.

Our dog, Lexi, likes to eat apples also--actually she likes to eat anything. Does Sophie get in the jacuzzi with you? I am hoping Mommy and Daddy get our hot tub at the lake working soon. I like getting in it if it is not too hot!!

Love, Hannah

Only wear your grill when Mrs. Juli says you can. I do not think you will be wearing it much in SC.

I must say I do not care for the grill. Does Mrs. Juli or Mr. Michael have a grill? The platinum tooth we will talk about when you get home.

I have never seen boiled peanuts in a can before. I'm glad you enjoyed them with Mrs. Juli--you have to fight to eat them around here and they go fast.

I do not expect to see any pictures of you wearing baggy pants and a grill. Daddy would not appreciate that look!

Have a great weekend. We are going to Grandma's in Clemson and then by the lake on Sunday. I will check on you tomorrow from Clemson.
Love, Mommy

Hey Hannah, Mommy, Garrett and Zac!

I hope y'all have fun in Clemson. Mrs. Juli said that she loves Grandma and she told me stories of how when Hannah was a baby, Grandma and Mommy would go visit Aunt June's house.

Mrs. Juli was very busy today so she left me with Sophie and Mini-Me, we had fun and we behaved. Mrs. Juli is going to take me to the wineries this weekend because it is harvest season; she says it is a very exciting time because the grapes are being carefully monitored and when the sugar content is just right, the field hands and winery owners have to get all of the grapes off of the vines as fast as possible. Sometimes, they never know until the day before that the grapes will be ready.

We are on the San Andreas Fault and I will post next week about how Mrs. Juli had to prepare me in case there is an earthquake.

Mr. Michael threw my grill away so you don't have to worry about me wearing it out in public. He couldn't believe that Mrs. Juli let me get it in the first place. He doesn't like my platinum tooth either but it is cemented so he is being nice about it.

I still like the way my new tooth shines in the light! I hope to get some good pictures of me in the vineyards this weekend.

Love,

Flat Stanley

Hey Garrett,

Believe it or not, real people do wear these. It appears that the correct spelling is "grillz".

Here are some links of real people with real grillz:

This is what they look like out of the mouth: http://www.flickr.com/photos/juliannainsc/2891644346/

I hope you are having a great weekend in Clemson and I am enjoying having Flat Stanley.

Garrett, I hope your mommy can help with these links.

Rhonda, if you copy the above url, it should lead to pictures of grillz so Garrett can see that they are indeed real!

Aren't you glad that I am teaching Flat Stanley such things! lol

Much love,

Juli
